As a bike rider every rider must be familiar about the the oil brand MOTUL,the favorite engine oil brand in India.This post is related to comparison of  2 of  it’s product the good old Motul 5100 vs newly arrived Motul 7100.

I will be frank to say most of the bike owners know about oil changing  but they really don’t know what it really means. There are some awesome facts about the engine oil change.Even brands too depends the performance of a bike as the providing materials(oil contents) with good quality . So lets start with this 2 products .

Every single specification of above oils are mentioned now to practical level…the above mentioned  5100 4T 15W-50 and 7100 4T 20W-50 is tested  with Yamaha R15, Karizma-R, CBR 250R and Pulsar P220 DTS-i and Apache RTR 180.

To compare the fact ,the bikes were hit with higher rpm with a longer run of 200 kms.The first noticed difference  which we could effectively identify was that  5100 does seems to be a lot smoother but with 7100 though it feels harsher but the bikes felt aggressive with acceleration and better top end too.

  • For Tvs and Bajaj engines the  Motul 5100 15w50 acts like god by reducing the vibrations
  • Drain interval for Yamaha and Honda engines is 500 kms extra than DTS-i and RTR  engines ,as their Drain Interval would be 2000 to 2500 kms .
  • If we hit lot kms in days (100+) 5100 is the good for you as even after 250 kms of hard and higher RPM highway ride in hot summer, engine tested in such conditions were  really felt calm and sound free.

  • Acceleration was far more better than 5100 along with nice figures.Engines were harsh for bajaj and Tvs engines.But for bajaj and Tvs to enjoy the acceleration benefit, they really should stick with 5100 .
  • For a city ride (traffic riding ,stop and go)7100 performs better than 5100 it’s because that the bikes felt a lot more responsive as per it’s enjoying the benefits of acceleration.
  • Better mileage compare to 5100.
  • It is noticed that for honda engines and  for yamaha it can clock around 4500 kms.

By comparing both oils standards in practical level both oils are extremely good if we check about protecting the clutch wear and engine both 7100 and 5100 do the task smoothly even both oils manages the lubrication job far more better than other oils which are vailable in market now .Now about the feeling of riding here lies the different feeling of both oils.

by paying extraa 200 bucks over 5100 you can buy 7100 which will give some extra kms of engine oil life this is prefered for Yamaha and Honda engines.For Bajaj and Tvs engines it’s 5100 we prefer it’s because it’s the best choice for it.

If you love to ride which says if  you ride long the best oil prefered is 5100 caouse nothing can beat this oil.But if you are looking for speed choose 7100

We madrives team, always prefer safety as primary concern. Now a days most of the automobile sites receives frequent enquiries about “what gear to buy and wear”    rather than speaking and enquiring about the bike .This article is about everything you need to know about riding gear — helmets, jackets, gloves, boots and such — in one digestible package providing you information to have a safer, comfortable moreover saving cash in all together process of riding.

Need for good gear

I guess you all know about inertia of motion right??? So consider if we are having a ride in bike say about with a speed of 50 or 60 km/hrs ,it says “you’re travelling much faster”. Our body parts such as skin, bones and organs aren’t designed to withstand impacts at those speeds. So safety must be ensured at that time.

As per theory, if we are riding over 30, figuring the average road surface, you can expect to lose 1mm of flesh for every mile-an-hour. So think how about if we ride at the speed which we told earlier?? We’re talking serious, life threatening injuries from abrasion alone.

Now about weather, what if the weather is cold?? Or wind chill at 55mph?? Making total cold out there .or about hot weather?? Here comes the role of gears. Gears can help whether it’s hot or cold .Under blast of winds, the sweat in our body is evaporated making coolness in our body surface. As per new designs of gears, our body is free to cool itself.

Now comes about the gears………….

HELMETS:

You all really want to be wearing a full-face helmet, because as per studies conducted, 45% of all impacts to motorcycle helmets occur around the face. With addition to safety provided against injury and scratch to head, helmets keeps wind out of our eye.

A typical Helmet have an life span of  5 years afterwards, the glue and the EPS impact absorption material  will degrade making an impact on safety issue. Helmets are designed to destroy themselves in crash protecting the rider’s head by dissipating the impact energy which might have transferred to our head.

To ensure safe riding, make sure that the Helmets in our hand is capable of protecting us .So we prefer you to buy new Helmets from a good retailer(because helmets could crash without external signs of damage but internally damaged).,So treat your helmet like you treat your dear ones..Never let it fall to ground else it would be damaged internally there by not ensuring safety.

This is a typical Dirt Helmet, Having goggles on them..Mid-section .This helmet do protect your face but No safety for chin also these kind of helmets will be noisy moreover this helmets couldn’t stand at high speeds. That is Dirt helmets are unstable at high speeds making riding uncomfort.So Madrives says choose right helmets.

If you are going behind cheaper helmets you are making yourself in harm’s way. There isn’t no need of paying a lot cash for helmets as safety is primary concern, helmets of vega,LS2  etc. is preferred. Under 3k. If you are just using locally we prefer you Vega helmets which is under 2k make sure you buy full face helmets. Dirt helmets are also in there section. So choose wisely.

Now about buying helmet, buy helmet which fits our head perfectly because every person’s head is unique. For that try every helmets you can.You will get to know which fits you suitably. Helmets won’t move or rotate in our scalp even if we resist the movement of rotating helmet by our head. Make sure the helmet isn’t too tight.

 

JACKETS:

A typical jacket covers our body parts which are fragile and important such as back, organs, arms etc.,.So choose jacket which could do the activities of providing safety and comfort but please never goes looking fashion here we are speaking about life threating situations. So select jacket which could ensure our safety.

Jackets are of two types’ leather and textile. While leather gives a classy look to the rider these jackets lasts longer but they are costly .If we look into textile jackets, they are affordable. If it is a high quality material, it will be able to resist abrasion as strongly as leather.

For motorcycles the jackets designed comes with some sort of upgraded features which we won’t finding other kind of typical jackets. For multiple times, seams are doubled increasing strength, protecting from abrasion. These designed jackets can seal out cold air via vents. Perfect body fit for the smooth riding experience. These jackets are fitted with body armors protecting your body parts by absorbing the impact on it.These armors are to be in elbows, shoulders and back. Now chest armor is introduced to protect ribs, heart and lungs. Many companies cut out the budget and decrease price of armor costs by simply including a piece of foam in place of a real back protector, which might be of low quality.

As for the new generation style is important jackets are available as per your need in market. If you’re having a sport bike having more power you might need requiring some extra articulation for a jacket to be comfortable on them.

Now think about the weather, frequently used riding condition. Jackets with lots of zips open vents are good for warm weather.

 

BOOTS:

Most of the bikes are heavier now these days as the engine introduced in them are heavy(good performance bikes) .So in order to balance the bike in some condition such as in slippery area ,wet section, unpredictable surfaces , a sturdy pair of boots with oil-resistant, non-slip soles with good quality and good ankle support should be considered.

By chance if we met with an accident, the most vulnerable parts of your body are your limbs, which include your legs!!! So if you are wearing a good riding boots it will protect your feet from minor cuts and scratches as well. Your average pair of boots will not provide complete protection to your legs as will a proper riding boot, because they are not meant for riding purposes. Riding boots comes under different variety size and shapes just same as that of our shoes, sandals, sneakers etc… If we categorize above mentioned boots they are of 4 types, racing boots, touring boots, motocross boots and street riding boots. Each category is enriched with their own charateristic features.

Madrives says, even we bikers don’t wear riding boots or any other riding gear, it is up to us to set an example. It is our duty to make them aware of the importance of such safety gear.

 

GLOVES:

A riders hand is needed to do some stuff while riding and they are the first thing from our body part to touch down in any crash at first. So it’s a task to protect them via motorcycle gloves. These motorcycle gloves should fully cover our fingers, palms and wrists. They glove should be such that it should overlap the jacket so that we never see skin exposed between these two.

The glove which you will buy should need a retention strap around the wrist because if we crash the glove should be remained on our hand. So select gloves with materials like Kevlar which are often specified for the stitching for their ability to resist abrasion and bursting and make sure that the glove you buy allow you to operate the bike smoothly

 

ARMOR

As mentioned above about armor, it absorbs the impact energy without even passing it to our joints, limbs and body. The jacket should be such a fit that it won’t restrict our body movements, makes us feel comfortable. It should also cover our most of the body parts as much as possible. Cheaper gears are available in market you could buy them but make sure you will upgrade it sooner because quality speaks when it comes under safety.

Back protectors cover everything from your coccyx to the base of your neck. These are available in cheaper value but with lower quality which will be often lighter and more flexible.

 

MISCELLANEOUS GEARS:

Now other riding gears miscellaneous ones, ear plugs, long under wears and eye protection.

Earplugs: While riding with motorcycle helmet, inside helmet it will be loud when we approach high speeds, so it’s better to wear earplugs to preserve your hearing over time and making riding more comfortable. Here there isn’t word about earplugs so you could try any company’s earplug

Long under wears:  They are available for both winter and summer seasons. For winter, making us sweat free and keeping us cool which works with our natural cooling process. If we are trying for warm condition, try   wind-resistant membrane such as Gore Wind Stopper which keeps us warm.

 

Eye Protection:  A rider also want to protect his eye from sun and the glare, putting sunglass inside helmet isn’t good it’s little bit tricky so tinted visor is better. You will get such a modified visor suiting your helmets. But always remember to get clear visor on road. Wearing visor which is tinted is dangerous as from experience we madrives speaks you won’t be able to see things across road. So guess if it is raining what will be the result?? Here we are reducing our vision to low level by using tinted visor in night. So avoid maximum usage of tinted visor in night.

Many of you say riding is your passion……riding is something that takes you to the zeniths of thrilling experience….but flip the coin ‘n try to see the other side too…..it’s something as treacherous as trekking…..so just put on the gears that would help to escape from being slipped …you won’t like patch works on either your motorcycle or your handsome face…..would you? Yamaha R15 power boost by Red Rooster Performance Kit

 What’s the first thing which we remember about hearing yamaha r15?…it is it’s speed and cornering capabilities provided by the unique design of yamaha R15 which is designed aerodynamicaly.
