Bajaj has recently updated their Avenger 150 in cruiser segment with 180 cc engine and named Avenger Street 180. But the Avenger Street 180 is facing tough competition by the launch of Suzuki Intruder under cruiser segment. The Suzuki made Intruder series in cruiser segment from the year 1985 to 2005. After 2005, the Intruder lineup was replaced by the Boulevard range.
The Bajaj has not made any change in its looks from previous model. The Avenger Street 180 gets new LED DRL headlamp with a small cowl, new halo-effect tail-light and also include the same rubberized rear grab rail in Avenger 220. On the other hand, the Suzuki Intruder comes with a fresh design and butch and bulky looks. The Intruder borrowed its looks and design from the higher end variant of Intruder. It comes with projector headlight, fully-digital instrument console, LED tail-light, rear-disc brake and a single-channel ABS.
Engine and Performance
The Avenger Street 180 is powered by a single cylinder 180 cc DTSi engine which delivers a maximum power of 15.28 bhp at 8500 rpm and 13.7 Nm of peak torque at 6500 rpm. The Avenger Street 180 gets a 13-litre fuel tank and the fuel efficiency said by the company is 45 kmpl. The Suzuki Intruder shares the same engine as in Gixxer. The 150 cc air-cooled, carbureted single-cylinder engine produces maximum power of 14.8 PS at 8000 rpm and 14 Nm of peak torque at 6000 rpm.
The fuel tank capacity is 11-litre and fuel efficiency is 44 kmpl. Both engine is mated to a 5-speed transmission. Also both the bikes get telescopic forks and disc brake at the front. But for the rear, The Avenger uses twin shock absorbers and a drum brake while the Intruder uses a mono-shock and a disc brake. Comparing the price, The Avenger Street 180 priced at Rs. 92,149/- is obviously an affordable choice and good value for money. Its 180cc motor is not only powerful but also fuel efficient. But if you want some more premium features then the Suzuki Intruder priced at Rs. 1.07 lakh is a best option.
