The Indian car of the year award was won by Hyundai’s Next Gen Verna. The new Verna was selected through the voting of 18-member jury board. With this award, Hyundai became the first automaker to win the Indian Car of the Year award for 5 times from 2008. Verna, Creta, Elite I20, Grand i10 and i10 are the Hyundai cars won this award before. The Verna has received 26,000 bookings in the first three months of the global market and an order for 10,500 units of export in the Middle East. The new Verna is made on the All New K2 platform. The rear shock absorbers provide a comfortable trip to passengers on the back. Motor-based power steering system helps drivers to efficiently control the car even when they are at high speed. Next gen Verna equipped with a 1.6-liter dual VTVT petrol engine and a 1.6-liter U2 CRDI VGT diesel engine.
The 1.6-liter VTVT petrol engine generates 123 PS power and 1.6-liter U2 CRDi VGT diesel engine generates 128 PS power. Hyundai also ensures good fuel efficiency without compromising the power. The Next Gen Verna priced at the ex-showroom price of 7.99 lakhs to 12.39 lakhs.
