BMW 3 series problems and issues reported by owners
BMW 3 series models are having a blower motor issue where motor suck a leaf and makes a “piece of paper in a fan blade” sound when using recirculating air.On the same car,when tested we found that the aluminum trim on the dashboard,drivers door panel, navigation screen, audio control panel, center console, and all the plastic vents made squeaking and rattling sounds while driving .These problems were found on car which had run 2480 miles.And when it was serviced,the sound was decreased for few months but came back after 3 or 4 months.
Some vehicles showed fuel valve problems.Fuel valve was malfunctioning and wants to be replaced otherwise car could not be driven over 20mph. Also fuel injector sometimes get malfunctioned causing the “Service engine” light to turn on.Some vehicles showed issues with evaporator sensor freezing which cause a/c to stop cooling after 1+hrs.
2009 BMW’s showed sensor issues related to failure of abs brake sensor,driver assist and drive traction control.Service list of 2000-2011 models of BMW’s showed that 2001 and 2008 BMW had much larger problems than other models.The least issues was reported for 2011 and 2009 3 series models.So if you are going for a used car its better to choose 2011 or 2009 models.
