This article is because i have seen many rumors and discussions spreading over internet forums about the next bike of Yamaha after R25. In our last article we have said that Yamaha filed for trademarks  ‘YZF-R3′ and ‘R3′ in the European Union and United States. But when i just checked some of the automotive discussion forums, people were talking about a 350 cc bike from Yamaha. Actually they got confused with the trademark R3 as a 350 cc bike. If it is a 350 cc bike that Yamaha want to launch, then Yamaha would have bought trademarks R35 instead of the R3. So from the trade marks which Yamaha filed,we can confirm what Yamaha is planning to built next.

If you have analyzed the Yamaha bike model names, then you can see :-

  • R125 for a 125 cc bike
  • R15 for a 150cc bike
  • r6 for a 600 cc bike
  • and now r25 for a 250 cc  bike

So as from above Yamaha product names we can make sure that the next bike Yamaha YZF-R3 will be a 300 cc one instead of 350 CC . Before the concept of 250 cc bike Yamaha R25 unveiled, the names  ‘Yamaha R4′,’Yamaha R250’ etc  were spreading for this 250cc machine. If you just search for these names in Google you can find different articles saying the 250cc bike is R4 or R250. And now the same rumors are spreading over the new 300 cc bike. People are simply guessing without any proper proofs! What we are sure is that:-

  • Next bike after R25 will be a 300cc bike!
  • 300 cc bike will be named as Yamaha YZF-R3
